Adult Ministries

Ministries for each stage of life make Berean Bible Church a wonderful place for the whole family. Come visit to see how the energy of youthfulness and the wisdom of experience have combined to create a rich atmosphere of learning and discipleship for all ages at Berean.

Adult Sunday School

We strive to present a quality, Bible-focused learning experience for every member of the family. For adults, the Sunday School hour is broken into two sections. Every week the adults meet in age divided groups called Peer Groups, which gather for fellowship and prayer. These six adult Peer Groups also plan socials and ministry activities throughout the year.

Erridzo, which means rooted, is for ages 18 to 25 and meets in room 101
Maranatha, which means come Lord, is for ages 25 to 35 and meets in room 100.
Adolos, which means sincere, is for ages 35 to 45 and meets in the Lower Lounge ( room 107).
Charis, which means grace, is for ages 45 to 55 and meets on the gym stage.
Aletheia, which means truth, is for ages 55 to 65 and meets in room 103.
Fidelia, which means faithful, is for those over 65 and meets in room 207.

Typically on the first Sunday of each month Peer Groups enjoy Coffee Breaks, which provide an extended time of food, fellowship and devotions which lasts the entire Sunday School hour (9:30-10:30 am). On the other weeks the Peer Groups meet from 9:30-9:40 am and then dismiss to a variety of electives classes from 9:50-10:30 am.

Adult Elective Classes
The selection of elective classes changes three times each year and generally includes the study of Old and New Testament books or portions of scripture as well as topical studies, including marriage and parenting classes. Some electives are focused around video series, some are mostly discussion based and occasionally a class will use a workbook. All sessions aim to help us understand and apply God's Word.

Couples Ministry

We believe that families are best served by a mother and father who are committed to God and one another. By providing Sunday School classes, small groups, conferences, and counseling, our church seeks to support and educate couples as they strive to honor God in their marriages.

Men's Ministries

Berean provides discipleship groups, Bible studies, breakfasts, retreats, and special events in an effort to disciple men of all ages to be more like Christ.

Women's Ministries

Women at Berean are encouraged to grow in their walk with God and offered many opportunities to connect, serve, and learn. Join us as we seek to strengthen relationships through discipleship, outreach, and special events.

Small Group Ministries

Small Groups at Berean provide ways for you to further invest in your spiritual life, find accountability, and share your walk with other members of the church. If you’re ready to dig deeper, Pastor Gary Hansen can get you and your family plugged in.

Young Adult Ministry

Whether you are in college or out of college, employed or unemployed, you are welcome in Erridzo, Berean's young adult group (ages 18-25). Erridzo means rooted in Greek, and we serve, study, play and laugh, all while recognizing that being rooted in the way of Jesus is the best possible way to live. We meet regularly on Sundays at 9:30 am.

ACT (Contemporary Service)

ACT is our Thursday night worship service for young adults. We meet at 7:30pm every week for dinner (FREE FOOD!), singing, Bible study and all around good times as we seek to understand what it means for us to pursue Jesus.

Download the ACT flyer, visit the ACT website or contact Pastor Gary Hansen to learn more.

Adult Sunday School Electives

1, 2, 3 John

The Apostle John's writings are filled with themes that shift and grow and build on one another to develop a rich explanation of our relationship with God and one another. His epistles are both simple and incredibly complex. This class will dig in to all three letters from the disciple Jesus loved.

Attibutes of God

We'll consider all that God is, how He is without bounds or limit and how He reveals Himself to His children. You are probably familiar with many things about God in three Persons. How well do you really know them? Join us on a journey into the Father's heart. See how it will deepen your understanding of who God really is. We'll focus on some of the less studied attributes such as God's self-existence, unity, transcendence, eminence, as well as His sovereignty.

Faith Lessons Videos series 4 & 11

In this video series, Ray Vander Laan illuminates the historical, geographical and cultural context of the scriptures and offers us challenges for godly living. This session will have many lessons related to events during Christ's ministry as well as His final week, death and resurrection.

Fruit of the Spirit

The measure of our spiritual walk to become more like Jesus is found in our ability to display spiritual fruit. This study will take us into a deeper understanding of what each component of the Fruit of the Spirit is, and how we can see it manifested in our own lives.

Scripture Memorization

Participants will work to memorize passages of scripture starting with Psalm 1, then we’ll select from a list of passages. We’ll learn memory methods, practice together and share our encouragements and difficulties. However big or small of passages we each chose, we’ll encourage each other to finish.
